Gift of Life is fortunate to have committed corporate partners who hold in-house "Swab At Your Job" and education events, and who also help to recruit new donors in their wider communities.
This includes corporate events with on-site donor registration drives. One such drive was for the staff of NBCUniversal Telemundo in Miami. The drive was visited by José Díaz-Balart, anchor for both Noticias Telemundo and NBC Nightly News on Saturdays. HJ Sims offered their executives and employees the opportunity to join the registry during their annual corporate conference held in San Diego, Calif. The South Asian Employee Resource Group at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts organized a drive to help a patient who was battling leukemia, but did not have a match in the registry. Working with ERG’s is invaluable for conducting searches for specific patients.
We thank all our partners for bringing new donors into the registry and hope to partner with many more organizations in the years to come.
Swabbing is a great way to show your company’s support for those in your community who are battling blood cancer or inherited immune disorders. Every one of us knows a person who has been affected by cancer, sickle cell disease, or an immune system disorder. Many of these conditions can be cured through a blood stem cell or bone marrow transplant, and the more donors who join the registry, the more lives can be saved. Lunch and Learn Programs: We’ll supply the lunches and explain how easy it is to save someone’s life.
On-site Swab Drive: Gift of Life will help you hold an on-site swab drive at one or all of your firm’s locations. We’ll train someone to run the swab table, send you all the needed supplies and handouts, and help you promote the drive within your organization.
Annual Health Check or Wellness Day: Some of our corporate partners invite us to participate in their annual wellness day program, to teach staff how they can become someone’s hero and offer them a chance to join the registry.
